Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP)
Since 2008 CFCS has worked in partnership with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to provide free income tax preparation for all Manitobans who have individual incomes under $30,000 or family incomes under $35,000 with no additional business or investment income. This service is provided by CRA trained volunteers at various locations in Winnipeg and throughout Manitoba from March through to the end of April each year. At some locations volunteers will complete your taxes with you, at others a “drop off” service is provided where you fill out a form and leave your tax information with the volunteer. Your tax return will be completed, filed and your information will be mailed back to you. Please contact us for specific dates, times and locations, or check the link below. It provides information on CVITP, including opening dates, times and lists of tax preparation locations.

CVITP is always interested in hearing from people who would like to volunteer to help others to complete their income taxes. This link to CRA also gives you information on what is required and how to register to be a volunteer. You can also contact our office if you would like to talk to someone about volunteering for this program.
